Your account and your device

Privacy.

This page describes the current account service and launcher. Updated 8 October 2026.

What your account keeps

The account service stores your email address, subscription and trial dates, a hashed device identifier, device-reset history, and session records. Device trial history is retained so a different email does not claim another trial on the same PC.

The launcher stores its sign-in session using Windows-protected storage on your PC. Signing out revokes that session.

Sign-in emails

We use Resend to send your email a one-time code and sign-in link. The challenge expires after 10 minutes. Resend receives the recipient address and email content so it can deliver the message. No Google or Steam sign-in is required.

Payments

Subscription purchases use the shared Dota Translator payment service. We keep order identifiers, the selected plan, payment status, and receipts needed to grant access and prevent the same receipt being used twice.

Card checkout opens Swapped’s service. We do not receive or store your card number. Direct crypto payments use USDC on Polygon; transactions are public on the blockchain.

Access and updates

The launcher sends its device identifier and session to the account service to check access. It checks the installed Dota build to select a compatible runtime. Runtime files are available only with active account access.

The server uses IP-based rate limits to restrict repeated login attempts. Temporary rate-limit records and operational logs help keep the service working. Account credentials and private update-signing keys are not included in website downloads.
